Recovery Rope Kit Instructions
Preparation:
- Inspect Equipment: Check the recovery rope and soft shackles for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage before use.
- Assess Recovery Points: Ensure the recovery points on both vehicles are strong, secure, and intended for towing or recovery.
- Know Your Environment: Evaluate the terrain, ground conditions, and surrounding area to ensure a safe recovery setup.
- Set Up Communication: Establish clear communication between the drivers and any spotters to coordinate the recovery process smoothly.
Safety:
- Use Proper Recovery Points: Only attach the rope and shackles to designated, reinforced recovery points on both vehicles. Do not use tie-downs, bumpers, or tow balls.
- Maintain a Safe Distance: Keep all bystanders at a safe distance to avoid potential injury.
- Monitor Rope Alignment: Ensure the rope is straight and aligned with the recovery points to minimize twisting and uneven tension.
- Avoid Sudden Movements: Apply gradual acceleration when initiating the recovery to reduce the risk of damaging equipment or vehicles. (No more than 4 mph)
- Be Prepared to Stop: Be ready to stop the recovery process immediately if there are signs of damage or failure to equipment.
